Role Overview

We have a permanent valuer position within a residential valuation team that provides an opportunity for clear career progression and promotion. Working with experienced and market leading valuers you will gain an in-depth market knowledge from valuing single unit, investment and development properties across London. You will gain exposure to high-profile projects and a wide array of clients.

You will be enthusiastic to improve your technical skills, develop your network and demonstrate a thoroughness in your work with excellent attention to detail. The successful candidate will be capable of working both individually and as part of a large team. You will be responsible for the preparation of valuation reports from initial quotation through to finalisation and delivering advice to the client. You will be expected to communicate regularly via email, telephone and in-person, with clients, Savills experts across the business and your peers. As such, the role provides excellent opportunities for internal and external networking. The role requires excellent organisation skills and an ability to multi-task, managing a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Providing valuation advice to clients for loan security, accounts and other purposes;
• Independently drafting Red Book valuation reports to a high standard;
• Taking responsibility for basic instructions from start to finish;
• Undertaking full valuation due diligence, to include obtaining market evidence by calling in-house and 3rd party agents;
• Managing multiple valuation instructions at any one-time, meeting deadlines and ensuring client requirements are met;
• Assisting senior colleagues with larger / complex valuations;
• Reporting directly to clients and senior colleagues;
• Building your own professional network internally and externally, through attending regular networking and/or client events;
• Assisting with the development of existing team client relationships;
• Adhere to internal processes, lender requirements and RICS regulations;
• Keeping up to date with relevant market trends, changing legislation and valuation practice;
• Mentoring graduates within the team;
   

Key Skills

• MRICS qualified (essential);
• RICS Registered Valuer status (essential);
• Recently qualified with some experience post qualification;
• Experience in writing Red Book valuation reports for loan security purposes;
• Can independently undertake valuation instructions from start to finish;
• Strong grasp of Microsoft Office Suite;
• Proficient in Argus Developer software;
• A working knowledge of LonRes, Rightmove and HM Land Registry;
• Ability to utilise the comparable, investment and residual methods of valuation;
• Good residential market knowledge & strong commercial awareness;
• Ability to liaise and build relationships with clients, colleagues and other departments across Savills;
• Highly organised with good attention to detail;
• Strong analytical, verbal and report writing skills;
• Ability to manage and balance a high volume of work independently;
• Complete work to a high standard in often tight timescales;
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills;
• Maintains a professional manner at all times. 

Team Overview 

The team is a busy, fast-paced environment, and comprises 6 Directors, 3 Associate Directors, 3 Associates, 2 Surveyors, Graduates and an Analyst. The team are well established and market leaders within residential valuation, covering single unit, investment and development assets across London, predominantly for loan security purposes. We have a track-record in valuing a large number of high-profile landmark London developments, super-prime houses and flats, as well as some key investment portfolios. Our clients comprise a wide range of lenders, alongside some prominent investors and developers.
