About the Role

Base Location: Reading, Glasgow, Perth, Portsmouth, Aberdeen and other SSEN offices/depots considered

Salary: £26,609 - £30,472 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

As a Sustainability and Asset Policy Project Administrator, you will provide general coordination and technical administration support to the Strategic Asset Planning & Sustainability Department, customers and stakeholders, to ensure the consistent and effective delivery of business processes.

  • Assisting with the preparation and publication of policies, standards and guidance that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Collation and submission of information for regulatory reporting, ensuring SSEN Distribution remains in governance. Including quality checking submissions, uploading information into core systems and identifying any missing information. You'll collaborate with various departments to ensure comprehensive understanding and compliance with policies.
  • Coordinating teams on training, PPE requirements etc. and key engagement days for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage budgetary responsibilities and ensure effective procurement processes.
  • Providing administrative support for a variety of governance and engagement groups, including coordinating diaries, sending meeting requests, tracking attendance, taking minutes and actions and managing papers.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you should have the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of the SSEN Distribution business and commercial aims of SSE. Experience of working in strategy, policy and standards environment relating to network assets or sustainability is desirable.
  • Grasp of some legal and regulatory principles, safety rules, and relevant policies.
  • Experience of IT systems such as asset management systems, Accounting & Procurement systems, as well as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Power BI and Visio preferred but nit essential.
  • Experience in areas related to assets, policy, or sustainability within an electricity distribution network is preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively train and coach others and work under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, organisational skills, and attention to detail is a must.
