System Integration Engineer

Experienced System Integration & Validation Engineer required by a pioneer in Space and Satellite Communication.

Our client is actively recruiting for a System Integration & Validation Engineer to join a dynamic team that are developing the next generation of Space communication technology. Their mission is to transform both in orbit and ground communication stations.

This role requires the successful Systems I&V Engineer to work onsite at the Surrey office for three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for the remaining two days.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Plan, manage and maintain all integration and validation activities.
• Design, build and operate our integration and validation lab.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to validate and approve all telecom payload modules and subsystems.
• Develop automated test procedures and related hardware setups.
• Lead outbound integration and validation activities with subcontractors, partners, and customers.
• Work closely within a multi-disciplinary team to lead high-impact technical decisions about system design, implementation, and validation.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with integration and validation of embedded telecom systems.
• Hands-on experience with RF testing equipment and electronics lab work.
• Hands-on experience developing telecom testing and validation protocols.
• Good knowledge in RF, Mixed-signal, and signal processing.
• Good knowledge in L2 switching and L3 routing protocols.
• Electrical Engineering experience or equivalent with emphasis on telecom.

Desirable Skills

• Aerospace background and experience
• Experience with space telecom protocols (DVB-S2X, DVB-RCS2, CCSDS)
• Experience with cellular 4G/5G protocols.
• Able to write scripts in MATLAB, python, or other scripting languages.
• Software skills in C/C++
