I am delighted to be partnering with a unique and innovative professional services firm organisation based in Bury St Edmunds seeking to recruit a Tax Assistant Manager responsible for a varied portfolio of Private Clients.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing own portfolio of clients ensuring that compliance deadlines are met and client service delivered at a high standard.
  • Being a trusted advisor to your clients, identifying advisory opportunities and ensuring that your client’s tax position is optimised whilst balancing their wider goals.
  • Taking on new clients via the firm’s website, email and phone enquiries, as well as through marketing initiatives including your own promotion through social media.
  • Review of self-assessment tax returns and related tax calculations for individuals and partnerships prepared by junior members of staff.
  • Preparation of high value clients’ / complex self-assessment tax returns and related tax calculations for individuals and partnerships.
  • Review of business tax computations (on Excel) and related Partnership Tax Returns.
  • Ensuring all digital tax compliance and permanent files are prepared in line with the firm’s guidance and kept up to date.
  • Provide support on planning projects and researching technical issues on tax advisory work.
  • Training of junior staff and liaising with their line manager.
  • Ensuring internal and risk management procedures of the firm are adhered to.
  • Responsibility for own WIP allocation.
  • Work with other departments and tax team members to ensure joined up service and "one team" approach.

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (CTA / ACA / ACCA) or qualified by experience with 3-5 years’ experience in a tax role.
