Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with an industry recognised public sector organisation who are looking for a Tax Manager to join their Tax team. This client is an employer with a fantastic reputation in the market and region. Due to ongoing projects within the business which has increased the workload they require someone who possesses outstanding skills within the world of Tax; specifically within VAT.

Role:

  • Working with the Group Tax Manager, play a key part in strategic plans to progress maximising any potential VAT recoveries
  • Lead VAT and other tax compliance audits
  • Responsibility for the management and training of direct reports including a Tax Accountant and Tax Assistant
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and procedures and to continuously improve procedures in support of the financial strategy
  • Support the development of systems and processes to ensure information requests are handled in an accurate, clear and timely fashion

Person:

  • Must be a qualified Accountant (CCAB/CIMA) or hold a relevant Tax qualification
  • Possess an understanding of relevant Tax legislation
  • Have strong system skills including advanced MS Excel
  • Experience of working in a Tax role specifically with VAT
  • Demonstrable experience business partnering with senior stakeholders
