This world-renowned organisation is currently seeking a Tax Manager to join their high-performing team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Head of Finance and managing a small team, you will be the organisation’s subject matter expert for all things tax, from leading improvement and automation projects, to ensuring compliance with HMRC and international tax regulations. You will provide technical guidance on VAT, PAYE, gift aid, and foreign tax issues, and support the finance team in building resilience in these areas.

The key duties of this Tax Manager role are as follows:

  • Preparing and supervising the preparation of VAT returns for the organisation and its subsidiary entities, ensuring all submissions are accurate and timely.
  • Developing a comprehensive VAT manual to be used as a reference by various departments.
  • Formulating and implementing a strategic tax and VAT plan, including digital initiatives and liaising with external advisors to ensure best practices.
  • Advising on the tax implications of new initiatives and projects across various departments, ensuring compliance and optimizing tax efficiency.
  • Acting as the primary contact for HMRC and international tax authorities, managing all related inquiries and ensuring the organisation’s activities comply with relevant regulations.
  • Line managing and training the tax team, identifying and facilitating opportunities for professional development and staff exposure to various finance areas.

This is a great opportunity for a highly experienced Tax professional who is excited at the prospect of leading on all tax related matters within several upcoming and high profile projects that impact the organisation’s global presence. This role will officially be based out of their offices in London, although opportunities to work from home up to three days per week will be on offer.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified as an accountancy professional.
  • Strong technical knowledge of regulatory frameworks, corporation tax, payroll taxes, and VAT.
  • Ideally, experience working with partial exemption but this is by no means essential.
  • Experience of managing and training a team.
  • The confidence to provide sound financial advice and guidance on all things tax.
