About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Wakefield, working in a school celebrated for its commitment to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and student well being. This is a full-time role starting ASAP, covering Science across KS3 and KS4, with potential Sixth Form teaching for the right candidate.

Position Description

Science Teacher - Full-Time - Wakefield | Start Date: ASAP | Contract Type: Full-Time | Secondary Setting

Essential Requirements
  • QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and Physics
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative lesson planning and curriculum delivery

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Assess student progress regularly and accurately
  • Provide feedback and set appropriate learning targets
  • Contribute to curriculum planning within the Science department
  • Attend departmental and whole school meetings
  • Foster a love for science through practical and theoretical learning
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and attendance
  • Maintain a well-organised and stimulating classroom environment
  • Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment
