Teacher of Secondary Schools
Accelerate Teaching is seeking an exceptional teacher for a Special Needs School in Wakefield. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team committed to providing high-quality education to secondary aged students with special educational needs. We are looking for a dynamic and passionate teacher with experience in this field to start in September 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters both academic and personal growth
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other support staff to provide the best educational experience for each student
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring their unique needs are met
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to keep them informed about student progress and school activities
- Stay updated with the latest educational practices, particularly in the realm of special needs education
Requirements:
- Proven experience in teaching secondary aged students, particularly those with special educational needs
- A recognised teaching qualification and relevant SEN training
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature, with a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community
