Teacher of Secondary Schools

Accelerate Teaching is seeking an exceptional teacher for a Special Needs School in Wakefield. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team committed to providing high-quality education to secondary aged students with special educational needs. We are looking for a dynamic and passionate teacher with experience in this field to start in September 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student
• Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters both academic and personal growth
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other support staff to provide the best educational experience for each student
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring their unique needs are met
• Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to keep them informed about student progress and school activities
• Stay updated with the latest educational practices, particularly in the realm of special needs education

Requirements:

• Proven experience in teaching secondary aged students, particularly those with special educational needs
• A recognised teaching qualification and relevant SEN training
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature, with a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community
