Job Description:

At Tradewind, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our schools in September 2024. The successful candidate will work closely with a pupil who has global developmental delay, supporting their learning and development in a full-time capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with global developmental delay.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored educational plans.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Monitor and record the progress of students, adapting support as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff members to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Support students with personal care needs as required.
  • Encourage social interaction and help develop communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with global developmental delay.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, SEN qualifications) are desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.
