Hiring Teaching Assistants for a Special Needs School !

Type: Full Time only (Term-Time)

Timings: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Salary: £13/hr - £14/hr

Location: Peterborough

About School: Independent Specialist School in Peterborough where we support young people aged between 9 - 19 years with a range of disabilities and primarily a diagnosis of autism, with a particular specialism in developing communication and social skills through a therapeutically informed approach.

Job Description

  • You will be required to work within small groups and at times on a 1:1 basis with pupils who require additional support, under the teacher’s guidance.
  • You will need to have a proactive approach and use your initiative in situations including managing behaviour, with the class teacher offering you constant support.
  • Take responsibility for the safeguarding of the young people in your care.
  • Support the school team to provide a stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment for pupils to learn.
  • Use an enthusiastic and flexible approach to working and building positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Requirements:

  • Right To Work in the UK (NO SPONSORSHIP)
  • a passion for working within an SEMH setting,
  • a flexible and enthusiastic attitude and a commitment to embed a positive culture of learning amongst staff and students
  • Proficient in English language and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Personal or professional experience with children
  • Recent university gradutes are welcome to apply as well
