Job description
Five Education is looking for an experienced SEND Learning assistant to work 1:1 with an 8-year-old child with autism. This child has ECHP needs that you will need to familiarise yourself with to best support her. The school offers Various ways to assist her learning such as Visual timetables, Autism friendly approaches, and social stories!
This could be a great opportunity for someone interested or who has experience working with vulnerable children and adults.

Daily Tasks:
- Support the teacher in helping the student engage and stay on track with the work/lesson
- Be visual for signs of overstimulation and help calm the student and reengage with the task when ready.
- Help with personal care when necessary (e.g. Toileting needs)
- Working proactively to help students reach their full potential.
- Report any Health & safety, social, physical, or emotional concerns to the correct staff member.

Requirements for the role:
- An up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate
- A good knowledge of the UK curriculum
- Excellent communication skills
- A positive attitude with a great level of patience
- 1 - 2 Years experience working with children with SEND Needs/Vulnerable children
- Understanding & the ability to deal with a wide range of behavior issues that could be mental or physical.
- Relevant qualifications to SEND

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
