Teaching Assistant - SEND
Contract Type: Full-Time (5 days a week) 8.30am - 3.30pm daily
Duration: Fixed Term for the Academic Year
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate TA to join our primary school in Chesterfield. This role involves providing one-to-one support to a Year 2 child with Speech and Language difficulties, Autism, and Learning Difficulties, as well as assisting in the classroom for the remainder of the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-to-one support to a Year 2 child with specific needs.
- Assist with the child's individual education plan (IEP), working closely with teachers and specialists.
- Support the child's development in communication, social interaction, and academic progress.
- Aid the class teacher with general classroom activities and provide support to other students as needed.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with Speech and Language difficulties, Autism, and Learning Difficulties.
- A Teaching Assistant qualification is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children with special educational needs.
- Commitment to working 5 days a week for the duration of the academic year.
