Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with SEN experience to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they require to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist teachers in creating an inclusive classroom environment that promotes the learning and well-being of all students.
  • Monitor and record the progress of students with SEN, providing regular feedback to teachers, SENCO, and parents/carers.
  • Support students with personal care needs, where necessary.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that helps students develop confidence and independence.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN education.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in education or SEN (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEN Diploma) is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of children with SEN.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when required.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
