Teaching Assistant

A large, established community primary school Edgware, North London are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to start in September. This is a full-time position working during school term time, 8.30am-4.00pm

You will be tasked with supporting individual children 1:1 or with small groups. Keeping them engaged within lessons and to help the class teacher manage their behaviour. Other general support tasks will also be required such as planning and preparing resources.

What the school are looking for in their Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting children, ideally in a formal classroom setting.
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly autism
  • Confidence to work independently, although fully supported you will often be working 1:1 outside of the main classroom
  • Be able to assist the class teacher with preparing resources, planning sessions and other tasks.
  • A relevant qualification would be beneficial (Level 2 or above)
