Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Swindon

Job Summary: The Teaching Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in delivering educational programs and fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves assisting with lesson planning, classroom management, and providing individualized support to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing and delivering lessons, including setting up materials and resources.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help, ensuring they understand the material and stay on track.
  • Help maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment by managing student behaviour and implementing classroom rules.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as grading, record-keeping, and preparing progress reports.
  • Supervise students during non-classroom activities, such as recess, lunch, and field trips.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Lead Teacher, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and any concerns.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and school policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications or training in child development, first aid, or special education may be required.
