Teaching Assistant
Empowering Learning is seeking dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants for an SEN Provision in Burton on Trent. These roles are set to begin in September 2024.
Role Overview
We are looking for passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work 1:1 with students with additional needs. This full-time position runs Monday to Friday, with hours from 8:15 am to 4:15 pm (Monday-Thursday) and 8:15 am to 3:00 pm (Friday). Initially, the role is temporary through Empowering Learning, transitioning to a permanent position after 12 weeks. The annual salary ranges from £20,624.76 to £21,506.16.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support to students, ensuring inclusive and effective teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with subject specialist teachers to deliver engaging learning support.
- Assist with specialist subject areas, complete reports, and provide feedback on student progress.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience working with children and young adults aged 5-19.
- Ability to manage and re-focus negative behaviors.
- Understanding of SEND, creating a calm and nurturing learning environment.
- Experience with various needs including ASD, Speech & Language Disorders, Prader-Willi Syndrome, MLD, SLD, communication needs, and therapeutic needs.
