SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties

An incredibly well-resourced SEN school in Lewisham are seeking multiple SEN Teaching Assistants to join their welcoming, holistic, and caring team as soon as possible. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will stretch far more than assisting with teaching. You will be supporting students aged 6 - 19 with Multiple Moderate Learning Difficulties and ASD.

These SEN Teaching Assistant roles are suitable for someone with SEN experience, particularly MLD & ASD, however, the school are also interested in Graduates with a keen interest in SEN, Teaching and Child-Psychology.

This SEN school is keen to take on graduate teaching assistants and provide them with the experience of leading a class, perfect for aspiring teachers, therapists, or psychologists.

For those who prefer a career as a teaching assistant, the school also offer opportunities to become a TA2 where you are responsible for supporting a specialist in a classroom setting.

The school are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team to provide support in the following aspects:

  • To work with children who have a range of complex needs including learning, behavioural and physical needs.
  • To demonstrate resilience in managing the behaviour of children with complex needs.
  • Remain calm under pressure and be able to adapt to change quickly.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and a genuine commitment to Inclusion.
