Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team in a mainstream secondary school located in Lewisham. The role is full-time and long-term, with an immediate start and is expected to last until the end of the academic year. The salary range for this position is £80.00 to £100.00 per day, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the planning and delivery of lessons under the guidance of the class teacher.
• Supporting students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
• Promoting positive behaviour management in the classroom and around the school.
• Encouraging and motivating students to engage in their learning.
• Administering routine classroom tasks such as marking, photocopying, and display work.
• Working closely with the class teacher to provide effective support to students with special educational needs.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children in a formal or informal setting is essential.
• A DBS check on the update service is mandatory for this role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your initiative.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask.
• A desire to support the academic, social, and emotional development of young people.
• A willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• A graduate degree in any subject is highly desirable.
