The Teaching Assistant Role:

This fantastic Secondary school based in the East London borough of Hackney, is currently looking to take on a dedicated recent graduate to work as a one to one Learning Support Assistant for the next academic year. The teaching assistant role will call for full-time commitment 5 days per week on a pay rate of £85 - 95 (dependant on experience) per day.

The role will see you supporting KS3 -KS5 class as a teaching assistant:

* Support on a one to one basis with pupils with learning difficulties working to a lower ability.
* Provide general in class educational support as a classroom support teaching assistant.
* Aid the School with general administrative tasks as and when needed, display work, playground duty.

The Candidate - Graduate Teaching Assistant / Learning Support:

A Secondary school teaching assistant position is the ideal role for those dedicated to honing their skills, building relationships and gaining a better understanding of the school system. Are you a Psychology graduate with an interest in working with young people and learning difficulties?

Previous experience working with children is essential, although not necessarily in a school setting; teaching overseas, volunteering, youth work, tutoring or mentoring will hold you in good stead for your application. Most important is a confident and enthusiastic nature coupled with a dedicated attitude.
