Team Leader - Children's residential services
Location: West Midlands, Birmingham, West Midlands
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £13.50 - £13.88 per hour
Benefits: Sleep in rate
Job Duties:- Leading and supervising a team of staff working in children's residential services
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the care setting
- Implementing and monitoring care plans for each child
- Providing guidance and support to staff members
- Managing budgets and resources effectively
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication with parents, social workers, and other professionals
- Participating in team meetings and training sessions
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Previous experience working in a similar role for at least 2 years in the last 5 years
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- Experience in an EBD setting
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- At least 2 years of experience in a children's residential services setting
- Understanding of child development and attachment theory
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Level 3 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
- First Aid and Safeguarding training
- Work primarily takes place in a residential care setting
- May involve evening, weekend, and on-call work
- Potential exposure to challenging behaviour and emotional situations
- Opportunities for professional development and training
