Team Leader - Children's residential services

Location: West Midlands, Birmingham, West Midlands

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £13.50 - £13.88 per hour

• Leading and supervising a team of staff working in children's residential services
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the care setting
• Implementing and monitoring care plans for each child
• Providing guidance and support to staff members
• Managing budgets and resources effectively
• Establishing and maintaining effective communication with parents, social workers, and other professionals
• Participating in team meetings and training sessions
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a similar role for at least 2 years in the last 5 years
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
• Experience in an EBD setting

• Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

• At least 2 years of experience in a children's residential services setting

• Understanding of child development and attachment theory
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Level 3 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
• First Aid and Safeguarding training

• Work primarily takes place in a residential care setting
• May involve evening, weekend, and on-call work
• Potential exposure to challenging behaviour and emotional situations
