As a leader within the Manufacturing, Science & Tech (MS&T) organisation with accountability to ensure the Seed Manufacturing department maintains the highest GMP standards. You will develop and maintain a healthy and high performing team, which executes the strategic plan to consistently deliver high quality products in a compliant, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

You will support the commercial manufacture of influenza vaccine by timely generation of high growth influenza virus seed lots.  Reporting to our Head of MS&T and based at our Liverpool site. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the consistent attainment of company standards in relation to GMP - right first-time execution, accurate data, timely close out of Deviation Reporting (DR’s), Corrective and Preventative actions (CAPA), Change Control, aseptic practices and housekeeping standards.
  • Coordinates or leads investigations in Quality and other loss control incidents in Seed Manufacturing. 
  • Ensures compliance with Seqirus guidelines and policies as well as UK legislation, safety management and maintain a behavioral safety culture.
  • Coordinates or leads investigations in HSE.
  • Recruits and maintains talent within the team as required, manages team attendance, performs disciplinary, grievances and maintains administrative procedures.
  • Develops, leads and champions changes, innovations and improvements. Participate in all project teams in Seed.
  • Runs and supports cross functional meeting processes as required in Seed Manufacturing, lead the Seed Manufacturing ‘Right first time - Path to Green program’.
  • Manages KPIs including reporting for Seed Manufacturing.
  • Supports the MS&T function with resource for activities such as virus reassorting and pilot plant runs as required. 
  • Develops the Seed Manufacturing teams and the production area as required.
  • Coordinates Seed Manufacturing teams agile moves during periods the department is out of campaign.
  • Scheduling of production/services activities as well as coordinating equipment/systems/process maintenance and validation.

Your skills and experience

  • Degree level desirable in technical scientific subject or demonstrated competence in similar roles.
  • Substantial industry experience with extensive knowledge of cGMP.
  • Demonstrated knowledge FDA/MHRA requirements.
  • Experience in aseptic cleanroom environments.
  • Proven track record in management and leadership of high-performance teams.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking.
  • Experienced in problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong coaching ability
