Job Scope:

The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring each child/young person is thoroughly assessed for their needs and has a formally developed Care Plan, involving the child/young person, their family, relatives, or an advocate as required. The Team Leader ensures that care is provided in accordance with these Care Plans, collaborating with the Responsible Authority’s Social Worker and Senior Care Staff to develop and review individual Care Plans regularly.

As a Team Leader you will ensure that all duties performed by reporting staff meet required standards and contribute positively to a happy, efficient, and homely atmosphere within the Home. Additionally, the Team Leader ensures adequate staff cover for all shifts, assists in the preparation of duty rotas, and supports the Manager in staff selection, screening, and recruitment.

The Team Leader participates in staff training, assists in staff performance assessments, applies disciplinary procedures when necessary, conducts staff meetings, and ensures the smooth operation of the Home’s Quality Management System. In the Manager’s absence, the Team Leader assumes the position of Person-in-Charge and assists in resolving complaints from children, relatives, and staff. The Team Leader undertakes other duties as necessary to maintain high standards of care.

Do you have?

  • Level 3 NVQ in health and social care
  • Experience working with children with special needs or in childcare, education, and family support settings preferred.
  • Developing and updating comprehensive Care Plans and conducting thorough risk assessments.
  • Providing effective supervision and support to staff to ensure high standards of care.
