We are seeking a Technical Team Leader within the Personal Injury Technical Claims team to be a pro-active thinker who is highly motivated and leads from front.

Leading a team of experienced handlers that manage and settle higher value, complex injury claims (generally up to £100k in value). The Technical Team Leader has a pivotal role in ensuring the team achieves the highest standards of technical quality across every claim they manage.

Working Hours: 
Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: 
Between £39,000 and £45,000 DOE plus £2500 annual bonus potential achieved quarterly

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee the handling of complex, higher value personal injury claims
  • Conduct detailed reviews of the claims managed by the team to ensure technical accuracy, assess performance and identify/address training needs.
  • Be a technical referral point for claims within the Technical Team as well as those which may have the potential to be housed there, providing expert guidance and advice as required.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to enhance the performance and consistency of the handlers within the Technical Team.
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews and develop action plans to address any areas of improvement.
  • Use MI to understand performance of existing strategies, implementing and measuring changes, as well as implementing new strategies to improve performance.
  • Ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the Technical Team, managing workloads and resources effectively.
  • Liaise with other teams within Personal Injury and across Claims more widely to facilitate the efficient operation of the team.
  • Address and resolve any escalated issues or disputes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Contribute to the leadership and strategic planning of the Personal Injury Department as appropriate.
  • Manage supplier relationships effectively and identify potential new partnerships which can add value to the performance of the Technical Team.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant experience of handling complex personal injury claims as well as an extensive knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework within which these claims are handled.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach to leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Innovative and open to change with an ability to implement agreed changes effectively.
  • Persuasive, strong and confident communicator with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.
