Location: Kettering, UK Salary: Up to £23,500
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

About The Role
This Laboratory Assistant vacancy is predominantly for the Protection PPE area and will
involve testing of items such as harnesses, lanyards energy absorbers, connectors and
rescue equipment. Testing is carried out throughout the year both indoors and outdoors,
some testing is carried out at height (up to 8m from ground level).
As a Laboratory Assistant within the Safety Products Testing team, you will be required to carry
out the following:
* Carry out routine physical testing in accordance with International and European
standards to deadlines
* Operation of test equipment to generate results which are recorded in hard copy and
electronic form
* Preparation of test samples prior to testing
* Maintain tidiness of laboratory/testing area
* Maintain sample storage systems
* Assist Technologists when dealing with customer visits, during visits and
seminars
* Continuous improvement of facilities and procedures, continually seeking
opportunities to develop and grow the business

FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

About You


* You will possess GCSE's (or equivalent) in the subjects of English and Mathematics,
minimum grade C.
* You must be highly organised, enthusiastic and able to work independently and as part
of a team.
* You should be competent in the use of Microsoft Office products, in particular MS Excel
and MS Word.
* Be able to accurately follow testing procedures and methods
* Able and willing to undertake physical setting up of the test arrangements at ground
level or working at height
* You will need to demonstrate excellent time management skills and to possess a
flexible approach to working being able to respond to changing deadlines and priorities
* You will need to have a keen eye for detail and be methodical when making electronic
entries onto systems and when completing paperwork
