Bank Mental Health Support Worker

LOCATION: Winchester: Travel across hubs in Eastleigh, Lymington, & Andover
SALARY: £12.61 per hour PAYE
DURATION: Temporary (12 weeks, likely to be extended)
HOURS: Flexible Bank Hours, with opportunity for sleep in cover

Overview:
  • We are looking for people with experience of supporting individuals with Mental Health issues.
  • Flexible bank hours primarily in Winchester, with some travel to services in Eastleigh, Lymington, & Andover (mileage paid between sites).
  • Rota pattern that mixes up lates and early shifts, with everyone taking their turn working weekends and covering sleep ins. We have two shifts a day at 8am-4pm (9am -5pm- Andover) and 12noon to 8pm (2pm -10pm- Andover) and you would be on our rota doing a mixture of these.
  • There are also opportunities to pick up sleep-in shifts in the Andover service.
Day-to-day duties:
  • Creating support plans with your customers and supporting them to achieve their aspirations.
  • Supporting customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
  • Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
  • At all times carry out responsibilities within the framework of the organisations equality and diversity policies.
  • To undertake any other duties as directed by a line manager that may reasonably fall within the scope of the role or service.
 
What you will bring:
  
  • Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working collaboratively with an eye for detail.
  • Experience of creating person-centred support plans and supporting colleagues in working to work to the plans.
  • Experience of coordinating and assessing customer referrals.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach.
  • Some confidence with IT systems would be of benefit.
 
Requirements:
 
  • A valid Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Right to work in the UK (unfortunately we are unable to offer sponsorship)
  • An understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality issues.
  • A basic understanding of the support needs of vulnerable service users.
  • Experience of working in supported housing is desirable.
