We have a fantastic opportunity for a Tenancy Support officer to Join our team here at Community Housing.

Working as part of the money advice and sustainability team you will be able to provide and assist with supporting our customers by ensuring their rent and other bills are paid and supporting them with access to other support services as and when required.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • To assist and support all new tenancies for an 8 week introductory period as needed, liaising with money advice and sustainability officers for benefits support. Extending support as and when required.
  • Advise?money and sustainability manager?of any potential difficulties arising from the tenancy and support operational teams to achieve the best outcome for both the customer and?Community Housing.
  • Prioritise and arrange customer contacts in the most efficient way considering time management customer needs/preferences in line with procedures, to assess customer’s situation and to agree a plan of support and actions with customer.
  • Maintain and develop working relationships with key partners including, but not limited to Job Centre Plus, Local Authority, Citizens Advice, and local Food Banks. liaise with relevant agencies and?organisations?in the pursuance of vulnerability, tenancy sustainment and all areas of housing management for the benefit of customer.

Our Ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience and understanding of supporting vulnerable people.
  • The ability to relate well with customers, and maintain a respectful and thoughtful manner?
  • Proven track record of sustainment/ housing management/ community support work or related field?
  • Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Level 3 or 4 Certificate in Housing Practice or equivalent
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle
  • A good knowledge of welfare benefits and familiarity with Universal Credit
