Main responsibilities:

  • Support Leadership: Assist the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery.
  • Team Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of dedicated nursery practitioners, ensuring high standards of care and education.
  • Curriculum Development: Implement and oversee the EYFS curriculum, promoting a creative and engaging learning environment.
  • Compliance: Ensure all regulatory requirements are met, including health and safety, safeguarding, and OFSTED standards.
  • Parental Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback and updates on their child’s progress.

  • Operational Duties: Manage administrative tasks, including staff rotas, attendance records, and inventory management.

Requirements for the Nursery Third in Charge role:

  • Minimum Level 3 Childcare Qualification: NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a nursery setting.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and OFSTED requirements.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • First Aid: Paediatric First Aid certification is desirable.
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
