The role: The Assistant Manager - Residential Service Charge role will ensure control and understanding of the numbers being reported for the residential estate and buildings service charges. The successful candidate will require work closely with the Service Charge Manager and all senior stakeholder.

Duties:

  • Manage and oversee a team of 5.
  • Undertake the responsibility for the financial information for the residential estates service charges.
  • Handle the quarterly close process.
  • Ensure the quarterly and ad hoc billing is accurate and timely.
  • Spearhead the implementation appropriate processes and procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Handle the Balance sheet reconciliation and review.
  • Oversee and improve on MIS.
  • Review performance against budget and on setting annual budgets.
  • Be an active participant in finance systems discussions, focusing on efficiency and automation of key processes.
  • Ensure the delivery of the annual service charge audits and facilitate positive relationships with the external auditors.
  • Handle tenant queries as they arise ensuring.


Requirements:

  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA and 3 years post qualified experience.
  • Team management experience in a financial control/reporting role.
  • Experience of financial close processes, including Balance sheet controls.
  • The ability to drive change, bring energy and passion for what they do.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • A strong leader of people.
  • Proven ability to implement improvements.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Organised, able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Prior experience of working with external auditors.
  • Experience of service charges and RICS guidance.
