We are currently recruiting for a TPA Team Leader / Claims Adjuster on behalf of our client, a highly regarded insurance organisation based in the City, with an excellent reputation in the market.

Reporting into the Head of UK Claims, the successful candidate will manage a multi-class DA Claims team, whilst also working as an EL/PL Claims Adjuster, managing claims from first notification of loss to settlement.

The duties for this role include the following:

TPA Team Leader

  • Day to day management of a multi-class DA Claims team.
  • Implementation and adherence of efficient DA claims handling policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Training / mentoring of junior members of the team.
  • Monthly production of Financial and KPI reporting.
  • Onboarding new clients.
  • Attending client service meetings, reporting on performance, and providing trend analysis.
EL/PL Claims Adjuster
  • Receiving and triaging first notification of loss.
  • Liaising with Brokers and Underwriters.
  • Appointing Surveyors, Lawyers and other experts in order to progress claims within a delegated authority, or with the agreement of Lead Underwriters if exceeded.
  • Collecting all documents in relation to claims and considering the policy wording and liability of the assured.
  • Contributing to settlement negotiations with claimants and considering possible recoveries from third parties.
  • Participating in regular claims conference calls to discuss claims progression with respective clients.
  • Ensuring that appointed experts are given clear instructions regarding scope of works.
  • Obtaining and agreeing a pricing structure and estimate of fees.
  • Litigation management.
  • Managing experts to ensure adherence to the agreed scope of works.
  • Actively marketing the TPA offering to existing and new business contacts.

Key Requirements

  • Must have significant experience as both a Claims Adjuster (handling EL/PL, General Liability or Casualty Claims) and a Delegated Authority Claims Team Leader / Supervisor.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and numeracy skills.
