ESG is seeking a dynamic Trading Manager (Buyer) for our client based in Harrow for the Core Grocery division. This role involves strategic planning, negotiation, and supplier management to optimize costs, enhance profitability, and ensure robust supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Category Plan Development: Create and review a category plan to reduce costs and improve profitability
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate volume/time-driven contracts to ensure strong availability and efficient logistics.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Deliver national income budgets and manage forecasting with stakeholders.
  • Own Brand Growth: Work with the brand to develop new products and increase market share.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain positive relationships, resolve supply issues, and enhance supply chain robustness.
  • Promotional Planning: Develop competitive promotional plans and negotiate agreements with suppliers.
  • Seasonal Buying: Identify seasonal product opportunities and develop strategies for product clearance.
  • Cost Price Management: Manage cost price increases and stakeholder communication effectively.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Resolve medium-complexity challenges independently and ensure strong stakeholder management.
  • Personal Development: Engage in professional development activities and support team growth.
