A well-established Accountancy practice in North London is looking for a new accounts assistant to join the team. The position will be a full-time office based role. The ideal candidate will preferably have experience working in a similar role for at least 12 -18 months, preferably practice experience. The practice is an ACCA approved training practice, making it most suitable for candidates who are looking to progress their career within the Accountancy Practice sector. Adequate training will be provided on all aspects of the job.

Your duties will include:

  • Bookkeeping duties for a variety of clients including VAT returns, bank reconciliations, monthly management reports and the possibility of visiting clients regarding bookkeeping matters
  • Good knowledge of accounting software’s like xero, quickbooks, sage and brightpay
  • Preparing working papers on Excel to assist with accounts
  • Processing weekly/monthly payroll, issuing payslips and RTI submission and completion of auto-enrolment submissions.
  • Preparation of sole trader/partnership accounts
  • Good communication skills and maintaining a strong relationship with clients.
  • General office duties

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A finance degree or a will be someone working toward attaining an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA etc)
  • Experience in a practice setting will be preferable
  • Clear and professional written and spoken communication.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel

Salary

  • Salary - £22,000 to £30,000 based on experience
