Job Title: Trainee Electroplater

Location: Whitstable, Kent

Salary: up to £32,623

£11.79 - £13.38 per hour + 25% shift allowance

Hours: WEEK 1: Monday to Friday 6am-2pm / WEEK 2: Monday to Thursday 2pm-10.30pm / Friday 2pm-7.30pm

Role Summary:

To carry out electroplating and metal finishing of components to company quality standards within time frames set out in the company policies, procedures and instructions.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

  • Read and follow documentation and carry out various plating and finishing processes to company standards.
  • Adhere to company process, manufacturing and health and safety instructions and procedures.
  • Adherence to company quality procedures, including product quality and system quality.
  • Follow the production plan.
  • Keep accurate quality records.
  • Identify and carry out the correct method of jigging for a range of parts and/or wiring / barrelling method.
  • Follow correct procedures for safe handling of chemicals within the plating department.
  • Use of x-ray spectrometer and other quality monitoring equipment to measure plating thickness.
  • Carry out visual inspections to company quality standards.
  • Understand and adhere to the department and company health and safety rules and procedures
  • Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.

Experience and skills required for this position:

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • The ability to read and understand drawings, manufacturing instructions, process instructions and specifications
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to perform repetitive tasks over long periods of time
  • Be able to work as part of a team, as well as independently
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Good communication skills
