Trainee Estimator Role Overview

As the Trainee Estimator, you will report directly into the Senior Estimator who will provide full training and where you will gain excellent development to kick start your career in the construction industry.

Trainee Estimator Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain tender files, ensuring all relevant information is in order and any missing information or queries are addressed.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain project prices. This will involve cultivating positive relationships with supplier sales representatives.
• Quantify drawings using specialized software to produce measures on materials, used for tendering
• Produce quotations and draft supporting cover letters for submission to clients for analysis.
• Follow-up priced tenders with the clients to find out if they have been successful and if our price is of interest to them. Record relevant feedback to the team.
• Maintain the tender log spreadsheets, ensuring it is always up to date with live tenders, new information and closing those which have been won or lost.
• Provide regular updates on the business’ Linkedin page

Trainee Estimator Experience Required

• Attention to detail is critical.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Training on specialist software will be provided.
• Good Maths qualification
