Trainee Estimator

Our client is recruiting for a Trainee Estimator for their small-works division. A construction degree or some commercial experience within a construction environment is all that is required, as full training is provided.

Location: Ashford, Kent
Package: £27k-£30k basic + an annual company bonus and 22 days holiday

The Successful Applicant:

• This is trainee role and my client is looking for someone they can mould, train and develop into a Senior Estimator
• Someone smart and switched-on, preferably with a construction related degree, or with some commercial experience within a construction environment
• It would be great if you already knew your way around technical drawings, but it's not essential
• You will also be structured and well organised in your approach, with an eye for detail

The Role - Trainee Estimator:

• This is a trainee role, office based working alongside and shadowing an experienced team of estimators
• Typically working on commercial refurbishment and renovation projects, for glazing and window façade systems
• Being trained on how to complete take-off’s from construction drawings, and to source accurate supplier and logistics costs for inclusion within tender submittals.
• Support the presentation designer with details to complete tender submittal
• Review and confirm technical specifications, and internal pricing systems and derogations
• Prepare handover documentation for secured projects to project delivery teams, and attend site surveys and meetings as required
