We need someone to work on the technical side of financial planning and investment management, where you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills in financial planning and potentially work towards becoming a Chartered Financial Planner.

Your day-to-day tasks will include assisting with client meetings, conducting research and analysis, preparing financial reports and plans, and supporting the planning team in providing exceptional service to our clients. You will work closely with our lead planners who between them have vast experience, so you can be assured you are learning from the very best.

We are a people focused business with a low staff turnover, so when we recruit we tend to look for bright motivated people that we think will fit in with the Heron House family and be with us for the long term. We believe in a personal, bespoke approach to financial planning and this tends to extend to how we recruit and train our team, so we create roles around our people with bespoke mentoring and training.

We are ideally looking for this to be a full-time role based at our office in Newport.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is preferable, in a financial or business related field
  • A strong interest in financial planning and wealth management
  • Enthusiasm to learn and progress their career in financial planning
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a team

  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Beneficiary of our employee ownership trust and profit share scheme after one years' service
  • Excellent funded study package
  • Private medical insurance
  • Death in service scheme
  • Pension scheme
  • Access to financial advice as and when required
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Adhoc team days and trip

Starting salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
