TRAINEE FREIGHT CLERK

£23,000 to £24,000 PER ANNUM

Monday to Friday 09.00am to 5.30pm

We are working with a large global International Freight & Logistics organisation who are expanding their operation in the Seafreight division and seeking to recruit a TRAINEE FREIGHT CLERK to join their Birmingham operation.

Offering a chance to progress in the future, this role will commence at a Trainee level and is ideally suited to a college leaver/Graduate looking to commence a career in International Shipping, logistics and Supply Chain, with a good level of IT literacy and who possesses excellent customer service and communication skills

The daily duties for the role of TRAINEE FREIGHT CLERK will include;

  • Opening new shipment booking files for Import
  • Data entry onto the Tracking system
  • Answering calls to customers and suppliers
  • Pre advising customers of deliveries and collections
  • Receiving & checking International Shipping documentation
  • Preparing HM Customs Clearances
  • Checking invoices received from Shipping Lines against job files
  • Raising Customer invoices for shipments
  • Responding to customers enquiries and queries
  • All general Freight office administration

Due to the location of the office and limited links to public transport, applicants will be required to drive and have their own transport.

A full 5 year checkable history required along with a clean checkable criminal record.
