We have an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful accountancy firm in their busy Insolvency team. This is a varied role and you will enjoy working with a diverse set of clients. You will benefit from a close working relationship with senior members of the team providing you with high quality on the job training. This is an exciting opportunity to join the established and well-respected Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency team.

Our client does not expect you to have experience of turnaround or insolvency as detailed training, support and supervision will be given.

The Role:

For turnaround assignments assisting partners, directors and managers with:

  • Reviewing and analysing financial performance of entities
  • Assisting with the preparation of formal and informal turnaround plans
  • Assisting with the implemented and monitoring of turnaround strategies

For formal insolvency appointments assisting partners, directors and managers with;

  • The preparation of documents of appointment
  • Preparing and delivering notifications of appointment
  • Attendance at site to review, log and recover physical and electronic records
  • Preparing periodic file reviews
  • The preparation of reports to creditors
  • The coding of receipts and payment vouchers to maintain our case cashbooks
  • Trading administrations including potential attendance at site, dealing with queries from employees, customers and suppliers. Forster relationships with suppliers. Assist managers with the maintenance of the accounting function.
  • investigating the conduct of directors and reporting to the Insolvency Service
  • Helping employees making claims for arrears of wages, redundancy pay etc
  • Enacting strategies for realising assets including book debt collection, liaising with chattels agents, assisting managers with the assignments of patents
  • Preparing insurance documentation
  • Dealing with creditor queries, then agreeing and paying claims
  • Obtaining clearances from HMRC

The Person will:

  • Be diligent, tenacious, curious, confident, articulate, numerate, with a healthy dose of common sense!
  • Be able to write clear, accurate and concise business letters
  • Ideally have some finance experience as you will be expected to help interpret financial statements and review various financial documents
  • Have spreadsheet skills with strong numerical ability
  • A good communicator who is confident and enquiring
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Work at pace with a good deal of energy and enthusiasm and be comfortable with a dynamic and changing environment
  • Be comfortable in delivering high standard work to tight deadlines
  • Be resilient in difficult situations e.g. you may be tasked with speaking to creditors who are upset because they have lost money
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Have strong IT skills, including Word and Excel, and the ability to adapt to unfamiliar packages.
