Trainee Machine Operator

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our client's team as Trainee Press Brake/Punch Press Operator in Cumbernauld. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are looking to kickstart their career in manufacturing and engineering. Job would be suited to recent college graduate or someone with some sort of mechanical background.

Hours and pay:

1 operative for Dayshift 6am -2pm Mon - Fri - Starting Salary £11.44

Then when training is complete and signed off it will go up to £13.50-14.50.

Job Duties:

- Learn and operate Press Brake and Punch Press machines under the guidance of experienced professionals.

- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work area.

- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards.

- Collaborate with the team to meet production targets and deadlines.

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Skills:

- Completion of mechanical/engineering courses at college is preferred or if you have..

- Previous work experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment that is also accepted.

- Demonstrated aptitude for mechanical work and a strong desire to pursue a career in manufacturing/engineering.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.

- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

Selected candidates will start training right away where they will work under the supervision and guidance of the experienced team members. This period is designed to assess their fit for the role and provide the necessary skills and knowledge to excel as Press Brake/Punch Press Operators.

Candidates who successfully complete the 13 week period and demonstrate their readiness for the role will be offered a full-time contract with the company.
