Technically-minded individual required for a trainee service role, to work with a local manufacturer, offering excellent earning potential and the opportunity for local and UK travel. Fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to begin or progress their career in engineering. Your new role:

Service and repairs:

  • Working under the supervision of a team leader (Progressing to working independently)
  • Repair according to service requirement
  • Perform planned service (and preventive) maintenance, emergency repairs to equipment in the workshop or out at customer site
  • Carry out product upgrades

Customer contact:

  • At customer site
  • In the workshop
  • Via telephone & email

Administration:

  • Acceptance of goods arriving for service/repair
  • Documentation of performed service/repair undertaken
  • Service order processing
  • Packing and dispatch of goods & customer returns

Working hours:

  • Working hours are mainly within normal office hours, 8.30 - 17.00 Monday - Thursday, Friday 8.30 - 16.00 Hours with a 1-hour lunch break. Working out of hours paid as overtime. (Normal working hours 36.5hr week)
  • The position requires travelling to customers site (nationally) based on a weekly work Rota system of a week in the factory at Telford and a week out servicing on the customers premises (generally the fire station) requiring the technician to stay away overnight (paid accommodation and all meals are covered) - This is generally planned work, but on occasions may be needed to be changed on short notice, requiring the candidate to have a degree of flexibility

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Experience working within a service/maintenance role would be beneficial but not essential as training will be given
  • Driving licence would be beneficial but not essential
  • Computer literate
  • Fluent in English (requirement)
  • Forklift license holder (beneficial although training would be given)
