What You’ll Need
Essential:
- A relevant level 3 or above childcare qualification for the role
- A positive approach to gaining further qualifications and CPD Knowledge & Experience
- Substantial post qualifying experience of working with children aged 0-5 in the early years sector
- Experience in making significant quality improvements within the early years
- Experience of working within and implementing the EYFS statutory framework
- Experience of Ofsted inspections or other inspections/legal bodies and their requirements within day care on non-domestic premises
- Knowledge of child development and meeting children’s needs
- Have general computer literacy and a range of IT skills
- Full clean driving licence
Desirable:
- Current paediatric first aid certificate
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Training and Development Manager, you will:
- Work across the group supporting managers and teams to obtain and maintain Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings
- Using a 'hands on’ approach to regularly review and audit the performance of the nurseries
- Create a schedule to undertake pre-arranged and 'on the spot’ mock inspections at each nursery to ensure all agreed quality and operational standards are being met and priority nurseries are ready for inspection
- Collate findings from inspections to present to area managers, work collaboratively to then agree a structure of support and training to be delivered in the following financial quarter
- Ensure all nurseries are compliant with all regulatory bodies, following set guidance, frameworks and legislation
- Oversee the rigorous delivery of policies and procedures to create best in class nursery group
- Ensure all newly acquired nurseries meet Ofsted regulations and have a 'quality’ visit within the first month of integration
- Keep abreast of any changes to the EYFS framework, new regulations and legislation ensuring the wider team are aware of any changes
- Work alongside the area managers to support in maintaining an effective educational curriculum across the group
- Manage all online training and other compliance training including First Aid and report on monthly progress and statistics
- Prepare data on training and report monthly to the Director of Childcare and Operations
- Create a safe and inspiring network for Apprentices to offer support and coaching and enhance their learning experience with Kindred
- Plan and prepare added value training in line with Kindred’s pedagogy
- Create and review the training sections in the induction plans in line with Kindred policies, statutory requirements for training needs for each role
- Be responsible for the localised training hubs across the group
- Develop and maintain a network of 'trainers’ within the Kindred management team, use this team to implement the training and development requirements
- 'Tap in’ to localised training opportunities and funding to best support and grow teams
- Develop a standardised matrix system to be used in nurseries for monitoring training and development Safeguarding
