Salt Recruitment is looking for a Local Government Training Manager for a South-East London Borough. To be considered for this opportunity you must have experience working in Housing / Local Government.

POST DESIGNATION: Training Manager

CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 months, with potential to extend

PLACE OF WORK: Hybrid, minimum 2 days/week in office

START DATE: Immediate start

Profile

The Repairs and Investment department within Housing and Safer Communities is undergoing a transformation programme that is improving the resident's end to end journey and revising our policies, procedures and system. Our client is looking for an experienced Training Manager to work with the management team, SMEs, digital teams, project teams and ICT colleagues, supporting this improvement programme and upskilling colleagues in the department. The post holder will be responsible to Lead Project Manager for developing the community and workforce through training. You will be managing 1 or more team member so you must have experience line managing.

Main Duties

Develop a training and implementation programme, promoting both face to face and online training opportunities, which helps the Repairs and Investment department to shape its future training offering.

Lead on the development of a monitoring and evaluation framework for the Repairs and Investment training programme, providing regular reports and reviews to senior management.

Develop training materials including documented training manuals, training plans, handouts etc for use during and post training delivery.

Demonstrate a deep understanding of co-creation and the principles behind taking a user centred approach to delivering training and change.

Lean on a range of tools and techniques that ensuring users are at the centre of the training we deliver, considering potential sensitivities and/or resistance to change.

Working with the operational management team and project teams to ensure high quality customer focussed services are delivered consistently and a supportive and developmental environment is in place.

Essential

· Professional qualification or undergraduate degree in a relevant field, or substantial experience of programme management, training, communication and engagement

· Knowledge and understanding of core engagement tools to support training delivery.

· Understanding of different learning styles and training needs, plus the ability to tailor training courses and materials to these needs taking a user centred approach.

Desirable

· Demonstrable knowledge of the use and implementation of housing and repairs systems. For example: NEC Housing and GoMobile, DRS scheduling system, Power BI, Propeller and Teams Enterprise Asbestos Register

Experience and knowledge of Building and Safety Compliance processes and legislation.
