About Us: They are a dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) committed to providing exceptional support and education to secondary school students who face various challenges. Their goal is to equip our students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to thrive in their future endeavours.

Role Overview: As a Transitions Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in preparing young people for their next steps in life, ensuring they do not become NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). You will provide vital information, advice, guidance, and support to help them overcome barriers to entering training or employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to support students in their transition from school to further education, training, or employment.
  • Build strong relationships with students, understanding their individual needs and aspirations.
  • Provide one-on-one guidance and support to students, helping them identify and pursue suitable career paths.
  • Establish and maintain connections with local businesses, training providers, and other relevant organizations to create opportunities for students.
  • Coordinate work experience placements, internships, and other career-related activities.
  • Deliver workshops and presentations on career planning, job search skills, and other relevant topics.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular updates to senior staff and stakeholders.
  • Utilise strong behaviour management skills to maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience in providing information, advice, guidance, and support to young people is desirable.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, connections, and networks effectively.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to inspire confidence in students and wider networks.
  • Strong behaviour management skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
