Transmission CAE Engineer

Job role overview:
As a Transmission CAE/Simulation Engineer you will carry out analysis in support of the development of new OE and race motorcycles for both road and off road motorcycle applications.

As part of the continued expansion of Simulation within Triumph an additional simulation position is available for a skilled engineer passionate in all thing’s simulation.

This position involves carrying out simulation on transmission components/systems. It would suit a talented engineer with excellent analytical skills. Entry level for the position is based on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Construct simulation models using various software to support and optimize motorcycle design on new and existing motorcycles
  • Design and Optimise transmission layouts and gear design including gear ratios, design of the involute gears macro and micro geometry.
  • Develop analysis methodology and ensure it is kept fully up to date and documented in the appropriate procedure(s).
  • Ensure a consistent approach is taken to simulation modelling through close co-ordination within the simulation team and across all the vehicle teams.
  • Continuous improvement to advance design procedures, best practice and efficiency improvements.
  • Generate procedures, technical reports, specifications and drawings etc.
  • To undertake and assist with projects as required by your Manager.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required by your Manager.

Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Experience:
Essential

  • Experience in Involute gear design and analysis using tools such as SMT MASTA or ROMAX Designer.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills.
