Transport Manager
The Staffing Network is a logistics labour provider across the UK.
Due to internal restructuring, our client have ian immediate vacancy for a Transport Manager based in Bedfordshire. The role is based at the Bedfordshire site with input into the other sites across the UK, mainly South of England.
The role is working for a UK produce distributor based in Bedfordshire. Using own fleet and third party contractors, the product is distributed to RDCs across the UK and Ireland . Chilled and ambient trailers. UK Fleet of 70 vehicles with 30 based in Bedfordshire at this site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficient, cost effective and compliant day-to-day management of the Logistics Operation and Fleet.
- Management, reporting and improvement of KPI’s with relevant stakeholders.
- Management of VC and £/km through KPI’s, implementing strategies devised in conjunction with
wider team to deliver improved efficiency and savings.
- Recognising the requirements for, developing, and implementing continual Personal
Development Plans for the Logistics Team.
- Continual comprehensive reviews of financial performance and root cause analysis for up/ downturns in financial performance.
- Management of resource availability to drive optimal Fleet Utilisation performance.
- Continual development of Driver Performance programmes, aiming to improve driving style and MPG metrics.
- Engaging with various members of the Senior Leadership Team within the Group to ensure wider Group success.
About You:
- Ambitious and enthusiastic, with a passion for excellence.
- A Transport Manager’s CPC (National or International) is compulsory.
- Comprehensive knowledge of EU Driver’s Hours/WTD regulations required.
- Experience working in FMCG, preferably in Fresh Produce
- Proven track record of leading and developing a team.
