The Company
Nigel Wright Supply Chain and Procurement Team are delighted to be working exclusively with an innovative design and manufacturing business in the Teesside area to recruit a Transport Manager.

The Role
The Transport manager will hold accountability for the transport function of this busy manufacturing business. Delivering nationwide to both businesses and consumers, the role is fast paced and requires a calm and proactive approach.

The key responsibilities will be:
  • Ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods to customers while optimizing costs and resources.
  • Leading a team of drivers, logistics and Loading team personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Plan and coordinate transportation activities, including scheduling routes, assigning drivers, and managing vehicle maintenance.
  • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost reductions
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of transportation and loading staff


The Person
There is significant scope for the successful candidate to implement improvements and efficiencies so we are looking to speak to people who have a forward thinking mindset as well as an ability to influence at both peer and director level.
