The Role of Transport Manager

Reporting into Director

The ideal candidate must have fine art experience and several years experience dealing with road freight transport.

Reporting in to Director

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Efficiently managing a team of drivers making sure they comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules and government regulations
  • Dealing with customers' requests via phone and mail, arranging quotation and collections/deliveries for UK and Europe by road freight.
  • Ensuring high levels of customer service are maintained
  • Arranging collections/deliveries for the UK by road freight
  • Overseeing the collection/delivery time of goods, maintaining delivery schedules and tracking the fleet of vehicles, ensuring customers' requirements are met
  • Keeping a record of the documents related to the bookings
  • Working closely with the Warehouse Manager in order to guarantee and keep records of in and out goods

Customer Services:

  • Ensuring that our excellent client relationships are maintained by keeping customers updated and informed at all times, and going to whatever lengths are required to ensure maximum client satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that other team members are kept up to date on shipping and UK transport/warehouse movements in order that workflows can be planned properly and operations run effectively.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Have good problem-solving skills.
  • Pay attention to detail.
  • Use their own initiative.
  • Have knowledge of the art industry.
  • Have excellent customer service skills.
