Position: Export Transport Planner

Hours: Monday - Friday

Salary: £27,600p/a

Our client is looking for an addition to their dispatch team the ideal candidate will have some planning experience as you will be responsible for load planning of export orders. This is initially a six-month contract.

  • Liaise with approved hauliers to confirm the availability of trailers for the transport of loads.
  • Update and maintain SAP with shipments, and costings and manage the self-billing process.
  • Combining part loads with groupage to ensure the service level expected by customers is met whilst ensuring cost-effective transports are arranged.
  • Export trailer planning of groupage, part load and full loads.
  • Monitor the status of orders in production and modify the transport plan as necessary.
  • Communicate daily with Customer Services on the status of the transport plan.
  • Input and validation of data required for customs clearance.
  • Assist the Transport Supervisor with investigation of customer complaints.
  • Perform general transport-related administration and assist with other departmental activities as required.

Skills

  • Previous experience working in a planning role.
  • A strong administration background, ideally within a manufacturing/logistics environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Be able to remain calm and focused under pressure and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload and solve problems using own initiative.
  • Good level of IT literacy - Excel skills will be required.
