Van Driver / Stores and Yardman

Location: Macclesfield

Salary: Negotiable with successful candidate

Hours: 40 hours per week, but flexible dependant upon demand

Our client is a local family business and have been providing their building services for over 30 years throughout Macclesfield and surrounding areas.

The Role

This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors and being part of a close-knit, hardworking team.

As Van Driver / Stores and Yardman, you’ll play a key role in the smooth operation of their yard and building sites - supporting tradespeople, ensuring materials are in the right place at the right time, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.

The role offers plenty of variety, and the opportunity to work with a long-established local business that values reliability and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Physically fit as job involves loading and unloading of heavy materials
  • Collection & delivery of building materials
  • Booking out of building materials and plant
  • Looking after all plant and booking out & back in
  • Keeping yard & stores in order and tidy
  • Clearing off of building sites
  • Keeping building sites clean & tidy

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must be over 30 with clean driving licence
  • Basic knowledge of building materials would be an advantage
  • Previous experience in a similar role (yard work, driving, or construction support) preferred
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and proactive in keeping work areas safe and tidy
