We are searching for an experienced and driven Workshop Manager who will be responsible for compliance and the smooth operation of our client’s fleet of trucks. This role requires an individual who can effectively oversee both the workshop and administration teams, whilst working closely alongside the Fleet Engineer to uphold high standards and achieve organisational targets.

Shift Pattern:

  • Shift 1 (Monday - Friday): 7:30am - 4pm
  • Shift 2 (Monday - Friday): 10am - 6:30pm
  • Every other Saturday: 7am - 12pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Line Management of technicians and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
  • Ensuring the workshop meets all financial and organisational targets, maintaining high levels of efficiency and productivity through effective scheduling.
  • Overseeing both electronic and manual systems to minimise downtime and control Work in Progress (WIP).
  • Controlling a robust MOT booking system, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory standards to allowing tests to be carried out in line with MOT and ADR standards.
  • Managing parts deliveries, monitoring and recording usage, reordering as necessary, and utilising third-party services to maintain cost and quality standards.
  • Working across all business areas to optimise resource use and maintain maximum efficiency.
  • Promoting the business, seeking new opportunities, and professionally representing our client.

Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a people management role within a similar industry.
  • Hands-on experience with Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV’s).
  • An understanding of the fleet industry is essential.
  • Self-motivated and organised, with an ability to handle a high workload.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build rapport.
  • Are a UK resident with unrestricted right to work in the UK, residing in a location that allows for working in Hull.
