Fully distributed commercial lawyer role - you can work from anywhere around the UK!

We’re a disruptive new kind of law firm with a mission to change the way legal services are delivered. Our mission is to provide affordable and accessible legal services for start-ups and small businesses. After years of award-winning growth in Australia, our firm has also recently expanded into the UK market.

We’re focused on efficiency, simplicity and embracing technology.

We offer clients a range of fixed-fee legal packages, covering everything that small businesses and start-ups need - things like company set up, trade marks, commercial contracts, online terms, employment, capital raising and data protection. We run our business like a tech start-up, with user experience, creativity and lean thinking at the core of our culture.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated UK Commercial Lawyer to join our legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing transactional commercial and corporate work services, primarily to small business and start-up clients. The role requires working independently, remotely, and with flexible working hours.

Key Experience

We are looking for lawyers with around 2-3 years of experience in general commercial and corporate law, preferably having worked in a leading private practice or in-house environment in the UK.

The key legal experience we are looking for is commercial contract drafting and review. We have a range of resources and training available to help you broaden your legal skillset!

In addition to general commercial contract experience, experience in the following areas will be looked on favourably:

  • Corporate law, including startup capital raising or M&A
  • Employment law
  • Technology law

Note: We are a legal consultancy, not a regulated law firm. This limits the areas of law we practice in, for example we don't do any dispute or litigation work. We can hire employees with international legal qualifications but must have UK law experience.

Key Skills

  • Personable, with experience working directly with clients
  • Tech-savvy, able to operate our technology platforms
  • Independent, comfortable working autonomously
  • Efficient, works smart and get things done

Benefits

Our clients include all kinds of businesses, from local cafes to tech start-ups, so you’ll always have a variety of work. You're given the opportunity to work across a range of areas of commercial law and take on a high volume of clients - super-charging your legal experience.

You’ll get to work autonomously while being part of an innovative and collaborative team.

We have a fully distributed international team and take flexible working seriously. Our general approach is that you can choose how you best work, whether it be from home, the office, or somewhere else. We allow and support working while travelling. We also allow working at flexible times of day, so you can fit your work around your personal schedule.

For us it’s more than just taking your laptop home - we know that it takes effective project management, communication and transparent accountability to make flexible arrangements work. We provide allowances for work from home equipment and coworking space access to help make this work.

If you’re ready to be part of an exciting and growing team that is changing the way legal services are delivered, then we’d love to receive your application! At this stage, only successful candidates will be contacted.
